Professional machine polishing on location
Machine polishing goes beyond what hand polishing can achieve. Using dual-action and rotary polishers with specialist compounds and pads, we safely refine the clear coat to remove defects and restore optical clarity. The difference is immediately visible — deeper colour, sharper reflections and a glass-like gloss.
Car polishing is included in our enhancement and correction packages. The Single Stage Enhancement at £350 uses a single polishing stage to address up to 80 percent of swirl marks and light scratches. The Double Stage at £500 uses a cutting stage followed by a refining stage to achieve 95 to 99 percent correction. Both packages include full preparation work — decontamination, clay bar, panel prep — before any polishing begins. Both also include ceramic coating to lock in the results.
We cover Stamford, Peterborough, Cambridge and Rutland as our core service areas, plus the wider East Anglia region. Regular coverage includes Market Deeping, Bourne, Ketton, Tallington, Ryhall, Barnack, Great Casterton, Oakham, Uppingham, Cottesmore, Whittlesey, Yaxley, Sawtry, Oundle, Wansford, Histon, Milton, Great Shelford and Sawston. Common questions
What is the difference between hand polish and machine polish?
Machine polishing uses powered polishers with specialist compounds to remove defects from the clear coat that hand polishing cannot address. It delivers significantly better correction and gloss.
Will polishing damage my paint?
No, when done correctly. We use professional equipment and technique to remove only the minimum clear coat necessary. The result is a refined, defect-free surface that looks dramatically better.
How long do polishing results last?
The correction itself is permanent — removed swirl marks do not return. However, new defects can develop over time from improper washing or contact. Applying ceramic coating after polishing protects the results long term.
Can polishing fix deep scratches?
Light scratches that sit within the clear coat can typically be polished out. Deeper scratches that have penetrated to the base coat or primer require paint repair rather than correction.
How often should I have my car polished?
A full paint correction is typically done once every 2-3 years or less, particularly if the car is well maintained with safe wash methods between corrections. Excessive polishing thins the clear coat unnecessarily.
What pads and compounds do you use?
Professional-grade pads from established detailing brands and compounds matched to the paint system. We test on an inconspicuous panel first to confirm the right combination for the specific vehicle.
